Trick Optical Illusion
Factory 27, the site of this project, is located in Beijing, China and was founded in 1897. This factory has been constantly reformed, with the development of history and technology. Finally, in 2007, the factory was no longer in use. Here, we engage in interactive projections. That will give new life to the historic buildings of this factory, which have become forgotten property and outdated space for people.
This glass house is so special in the factory. Day and night are completely different. During the day we can clearly see the interior space of the glass house even from outside. But when the night falls, we cannot feel the boundary of the space because the glass is transparent. So in the dark environment makes man think about: How do you perceive the size of space at night or even in an invisible environment? Is the space you perceive real? Glass can reflect, we take advantage of this feature to experience immersive interactive projection at night.
People's perception of space is often informed by changes in negative space. For example, in a fixed space. If people are spread out in the space, each person has a small range of movement and therefore people feel that the space is small. If people are concentrated at one point, there is a lot of free space left and therefore people feel that the space is large.
Distance can be displayed by visual principles such as near is large and far is small. Thus we enhance this illusion of space by linear language by the thickness of the lines and the speed of movement etc.
